Team HARD secure second TOCA BTCC Licence for 2016

Team HARD will expand to two cars for the 2016 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship after securing a second TOCA BTCC Licence.

Having already confirming Chris Smiley will graduate to the series from the MINI Challenge, Team Principal Tony Gilham has now concluded negotiations to obtain a second licence – which has subsequently been approved by series organisers TOCA.

“This is an exciting time for Team HARD and now we’re facing arguably the biggest year we’ve ever had,” said Gilham. “This is great news and we’ll bring you further information on our second seat over the coming weeks.”

Despite running a Toyota Avensis last season, the Kent-based operation are yet to confirm whether they will run the front-wheel-drive machine again. Having already nearly completed a new build for the coming season, Gilham is yet to make a decision on what cars will take to the grid for the season opener in April.
