Red Bull Partner Jordan In 2014

Andrew Jordan has announced that he will be partnered by Red Bull Motorsport for the defence of his driver’s title in 2014.

The Honda Civic driver said he has been developing the relationship for the past two years and has now been able to capitalise on his recent success.

Although the livery of his NGTC machine isn’t expected to change, Jordan does instead have a brand new helmet for the coming season. The iconic blue and silver Red Bull livery, which all sponsored athletes have, will be run by the Pirtek Racing driver – as will the number one judging by the attached picture for this season.

I’m delighted to be part of Red Bull’s motorsport programme,” said the 2013 champion. “I’ve been working with the company for a couple of years now and have always used Red Bull to get mentally and physically prepared for races.

“It is great news that the partnership is stepping up a gear in 2014. I really hope this is the beginning of a long-term relationship and it is very good for me to be involved with such a strong brand.

“It’s really exciting that Red Bull will be a part of the BTCC in 2014. It is a real endorsement of the strength of the BTCC and I’m very proud to be going into the 2014 season as the reigning champion.”

Red Bull are set to be the latest energy drink to make it into the BTCC, with Jason Plato representing KX Energy, Tom Onslow-Cole on behalf of Rockstar Energy and Dave Newsham running No Fear sponsorship. Warren Scott also brought Restart Energy Drink into the series for the first time in 2013.

This isn’t the first time that both Pirtek and Red Bull have joined forces in motorsport capacity. Last year saw the duo support former Moto GP champion Casey Stoner in his maiden V8 Supercar second tier series.

Jordan is to be present at the Autosport Show on all four days, talking to fans and Henry Hope-Frost on the main stage.
