Ian Harrison remaining coy on MG Triple Eight Racing line-up

MG Triple Eight Racing Team Principal Ian Harrison is remaining tight-lipped on their driver line-up for 2016 after news today broke that Jack Goff will join West Surrey Racing.

Yet to confirm either driver for the coming season, MG have already pledged their allegiance to the series and the multiple champions by extending their current deal for a further three years, taking them till the end of 2018.

Although the absence of Goff and Jordan means an all new line-up will be revealed for the coming year, the charismatic team boss is keeping his plans close to his chest.

“We’re working on that,” said Harrison to BTCC Crazy at the Autosport Show. “It may look like we are a little bit late to the party but there is no real rush. We’ve got plans up our sleeves and I’m not busting to put pen-to-paper and get it out there. I know who I want and there are a few guy’s that I’m after so we will see how things pan out.”

Having wanted to keep Goff on-board for a second season, Harrison was pleased to see the 24-year-old continue moving forward: “It is a shame he left but I’m really pleased for him because he is a top driver who works very hard to be on the grid. I got on really well with him and it is a brilliant opportunity that we couldn’t be match.”

In what has been a busy winter for the team, Triple Eight Racing now work out of the same base as Team BMR, with a technical alliance being formed in-doing so.

He further explained: “This is mainly about pooling resources. There are a lot of teams in the pit lane and we are all doing the same thing really so if you consider we all run common parts, why can’t we use common resource.

“We’ve brought our thing to BMR and they’ve got their work ethic as well. Overall we have ended up with a really good back of house system which will benefit everybody in the long run.”
