Team Pyro’s Josh Files has shown incredible pace this season so far, but at present finds himself 59 points adrift of Championship leader, and team mate, Jack Goff. As the AirAsia Clio Cup returns to action after the first mid-season break, Files has his sights firmly set on pulling himself into the title picture.
It was a mixed weekend for the Norwich based driver last time out at Thruxton. In the torrential rain he managed to claim a second place on the Saturday, but could only manage thirteenth in the second race of the weekend.
Still confident though, Files aims to produce a mature performance to try and pull himself back up the standings.
“Oulton Park is a circuit that I absolutely love,” he said. “It’s very picturesque, and I would definitely say that Old Hall is my favourite corner out of all the circuits that I have raced on in the UK.”
“Ideally I would like to go out there this weekend and put myself in the best position to challenge for victories, but I have to think about the bigger picture and the championship, I must go out there and manage the gap between myself and the top of the standings.”
