Mike Bushell will return to the 2013 Renault Clio Cup championship as he embarks on a successive season with Westbourne Motorsport.
Bushell took his Clio to a 14th place finish in the overall standings in his maiden season and even picked up a podium after a fantastic scrap with Stefan Hodgetts at the title decider which took place at Brands Hatch in October.
The Tonbridge Wells born charger had previously competed in the Ford Fiesta championship and has an aim for BTCC, so as he looks to his second season in the Clio Cup there is a lot of optimism for Westbourne’s prospects.
Bushell said: “The podium that I and the team took from Brands has given us all the confidence to push on further in 2013. The aim will be to be at the sharp end of the field as well as collect more podiums.
“I truly believe that the last round in 2012 unlocked my potential, the winter has been very productive in terms of testing with the team and we have a good bond, we are all fired up to take the Clio’s by storm.”
Bushell will be present at the official Clio Cup Media Day which takes place at Silverstone on the 21st March. The first race of the season kicks off at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit on Easter weekend (30th/31st March).
