Will Burns has been airlifted to hospital following the three-car incident he was involved in the during the opening BTCC race of the day at Silverstone.
The Team HARD driver impacted the rear-right corner of Rob Collard’s BMW after the West Surrey Racing exited the circuit and skated across the wet grass at Copse on lap 14.
Collard returned onto the track in front of Burns, who had nowhere to go. The subsequent contact saw both cars sustain heavy damage.
Burns would also receive contact from the rear virtue of BMW Pirtek Racing’s Andrew Jordan.
Early reports suggest that the 27-year-old has sustained suspected chest injuries and is set to be airlifted to a local hospital.
