Weekend To Forget For Ollie At Oulton

Oulton Park will be one of the rounds that Ollie Jackson will look to forget as the 28-year-old looks ahead to the next round of the 2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

The weekend started badly for the Reigate-driver as a spin in the second practice on Saturday saw the AmD Tuning.com VW Golf hit the barriers hard at Cascades causing substantial damage to the car. The team managed to repair the car but Olly could only manage 20th on the grid following qualifying.

“In a word, I’d say it’s been tragic,” he reflected. “It really did turn into a weekend to forget. I have to hold my hands up a bit and admit I could have done better, but we’ve also had a number of issues that we have had to deal with. It’s a shame that the car was faultless in the recent test and then wasn’t when we arrived at Oulton Park but we’ll move onwards and upwards next time out.”

In the days three races Olly managed a best of 11th which was backed up by two points finishes with two 15th place finishes.

Ollie went on to say, “The potential is there in the Golf and I have to thank the team for doing a great job as I didn’t make it easy for them with the incident on Saturday. I’m sure our luck will turn soon.”
