The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship have announced an unchanged calendar for 2017 with the series opening and closing at the now traditional venue of Brands Hatch.
In what is the sixth consecutive season where the event order has remained untouched, the 30-race format held over ten weekend’s will see all areas of the UK visited and yet more bumper-to-bumper racing provided by some of the world’s best drivers.
Kicking things off around the Indy layout of Brands Hatch, the BTCC visits Donington Park, Thruxton, Oulton Park and Croft before the traditional mid-season summer break. After that the action will continue to hot up with Snetterton, Knockhill, Rockingham and Silverstone all being ticked off the list before a champion is crowned in October at Brands Hatch GP.
“With the BTCC’s enormous and ever-increasing popularity, this format has continually proven to be a real winner,” said Series Director Alan Gow.
“It provides our teams, partners, venues, huge TV audience and of course our hundreds of thousands of fans with a consistent and proven calendar that always delivers a great championship.
“We have defined our 2017 calendar as early as possible with this unprecedented mid-June announcement to help other UK motor sport events in reducing the amount of clashes that can inevitably occur.”
