Tom Chilton will not compete in the penultimate event of the season at Silverstone next weekend for Power Maxed Racing.
Chilton underwent a routine operation recently, returning fit and well. Despite that, the former Independent Drivers’ champion has been unable to gain clearance by medics to compete in rounds 25, 26 and 27.
“It’s such a shame to miss the next races, but I have to follow the doctor’s orders,” Chilton said. “I’m gutted to miss Silverstone particularly as it’s one of my favourite tracks, but I will be back on the track at Brands.”
The Vauxhall Astra driver has endured a rollercoaster return to Britain’s premier race series with a third place at the season-opener proving to be his best result so far.
Power Maxed Racing have hinted that a replacement driver will be confirmed in due course. Chilton is set to return to the grid for the final round of the season at Brands Hatch GP on the 30 September/ 1 October.
