Gordon Shedden has been excluded from the final race of the day at Snetterton after his car was found to have exceeded the boost limitations it was meant to be running to.
Shedden had initially crossed the line third behind Dave Newsham and Tom Onslow-Cole but post-race checks revealed that Shedden’s car had “overboosted” during the race thus giving him more straight line speed than he was supposed to have, a breach of the technical rules which are in place to ensure parity between the amount of boost available to all of the teams.
This promotes everyone who finished behind him in the third race, one position but more importantly means he loses the championship lead to team mate Matt Neal and now trails the three times champion by twelve points as the series heads to Shedden’s home circuit Knockhill in a fortnight’s time.
