AmDTuning.com team boss Shaun Hollamby believes podiums can be achieved in 2018 as his squad take over the running of the MG6 GTs, formerly run by Triple Eight Racing.

The team revealed last month at the Autosport Show that they would expand their BTCC programme to four cars, with the two MGs joining the two Audis S3s of Ollie Jackson and Sam Smelt.

Since then, a deal has been done for RCIB Insurance and AutoAid Breakdown to assume the role of title sponsors across both cars for the forthcoming season. Both will be familiar to BTCC fans having been involved with the likes of Triple Eight, Laser Tools Racing and Team HARD in previous campaigns.

In addition to the teams’ title sponsors, the first driver for MG has also been signed, with an announcement revealing who it is set to be made in the coming weeks.

“It goes without saying that we are delighted to welcome RCIB Insurance and AutoAid Breakdown onboard for the 2018 season,” Hollamby said on the deal with RCIB and AutoAid.

“This new MG programme is one that is extremely exciting for us as a team, and we are delighted to have agreed a deal for them to be title sponsor for the year ahead.

“Mike Joseph and his team are no strangers to motorsport and know the value that comes from being part of the BTCC, and our aim during the year ahead is to reward their investment in this programme with some strong results on track.”

“This new partnership has already allowed us to bring together a deal to sign a very quick young driver for the first car, who we feel is more than capable of taking the MG back to the podium and challenging for some silverware.”

It is understood that talks are still ongoing for the second seat at MG.
