Mat Jackson hoping for incident free weekend at Oulton Park

Mat Jackson is targeting an incident free weekend as he bids to get his championship challenge back on track at Oulton Park this weekend.

In what has been a character building start to the 2017 campaign for the Motorbase Performance squad, Jackson has found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time on a number of occasions; ultimately leaving him 14th in the points.

Taking a double points finish at Thruxton, the multiple race winner heads to Cheshire confident that this weekend could be the turning point in his season, and the start of a resurgence in the standings.

“Oulton is a great circuit and one of my all-time favourites,” Jackson explained. “We’ve had some good results there in the past and hopefully this weekend will be the turning point in our season.”

“The car is in the window, we just need an incident free weekend to bank some much needed points and get our championship back on track.”

Hoping for a return to form for all three of their Team Shredded Wheat Racing with DUO Ford’s, Team Manager Oly Collins ha stated that it has been non-stop work back at base with more improvements being made for rounds 10, 11 and 12.

He said: “The entire Motorbase crew have worked extremely hard during the short two week turnaround to ensure that the two cars that unfortunately suffered significant damage at Thruxton are ready to go this weekend.

“We’ve also made some further improvements in readiness for Oulton Park and we’ll keep pushing to ensure that we’re at the top of our game. The BTCC is arguably the most competitive it’s ever been this year and by its very nature is never stands still – which means we can’t afford to either!”
