Josh Cook will compete in the opening race of the weekend at Silverstone after appealing a one race ban which was imposed by series officials.
The MG Triple Eight Racing driver picked up his third and fourth strikes of the season at Rockingham three weeks ago, constituting a one race ban as per championship regulations.
Appealing the penalty, a hearing took place at Silverstone late yesterday afternoon however the decision was upheld. Cook and the team have since appealed that decision and it will now be heard at the MSA National Court, likely after the season has finished.
Cook will be allowed to compete in all three races at Silverstone and will also be under appeal at the series finale.
If Cook’s appeal at MSA National Court is unsuccessful then he will be stripped of all points scored in those six races.
It is likely that the appeal will take place out of season, therefore meaning results of the championship will be provisional.
