Jake Hill has heralded his maiden Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship podium a moment he will never forget after finishing second in race two at Brands Hatch.

The Trade Price Cars with Brisky Cars driver gambled on slick tyres on a wet track, along with a host of other drivers, to then produce a stunning drive.

Starting P25, Hill threaded his way as those on wet tyres struggled, ultimately following Senna Proctor over the line to score his maiden podium finish in the series.

“This is a moment I will never forget,” Hill told BTCC Crazy. “I only just made it onto the grid in the first place and when I was going round I could see that there were some patchy places.

“We were checking all of the different radars and could see that there was no rain scheduled so we took the gamble and went for it. Me and Aiden Moffat worked well together and he opened a few doors for me.

“I lost communications midway through the race so I didn’t really know whereabouts we were on the road. When I saw the likes of Ingram and Goff I knew we must have been near the front.

“I’ve never been in a race like that, I really had to pick and choose my moments as well as manage the tyres we were on too. The soft compound was brilliant, I couldn’t believe how much faster we were than everyone else.

“Once we were up near the front it was about not taking any risks but also making sure that we hit our marks. This is the perfect reward for everyone in the team, they deserve this!”
