MG Triple Eight Racing’s Jack Goff is remaining coy on how he will fair in the final race of the day at Brands Hatch.
The 24-year-old lines up on the outside of the front row after finishing ninth in round two, and on the controlled Dunlop tyre, believes he can be competitive at the sharp end.
Goff told BTCC Crazy: “We’re not on the soft tyre so we should be in good shape. The performance has been rather good but we just haven’t been able to really show what we can do.
“This is a great opportunity though so I’m going to give it everything, I’m quietly confident we can end the day with a great result.”
Since the second race ended, Goff has been handed a verbal warning and two penalty points on his race licence after an incident with Aron Smith in race two.
He said: “It all bunched up between a few of us and there was contact between us, I sort of had no where to go but the stewards have viewed it a different way, which I’ve accepted.
“It’s unfortunate because me and Aron are mates but we’ve spoken and cleared the air so that is the end of it.”
Race three is scheduled to get underway just after 17:00.
