Jack Goff handed penalty points for FP1 incident, 888 Racing appeal decision

Jack Goff

MG Triple Racing’s Jack Goff has been handed a reprimand and two penalty points on his race licence for his part in the incident that brought a red flag out in opening practice.

Contact between Goff and the Audi A4 of Hunter Abbott took place heading into the final chicane, subsequently preventing Abbott of making it back to the pit lane.

MG were unable to fix the cosmetic damage Goff sustained but will take part in second practice, Abbott on the other hand is a doubt for qualifying.

Triple Eight Racing have since appealed the decision made by the stewards and an outcome is expected after 14:00 this afternoon.
