Jack Goff has his sights firmly set on moving forward at Brands Hatch today as he looks to kickstart his 2017 season off with a strong haul of points.
With team-mate Jeff Smith taking a surprise pole position in what was a frenetic qualifying session, Goff underlined the pace of Eurotech Racing by setting the seventh fastest time. The one-time race winner’s inclusion in the top ten also showcased the strengths of the
Traditionally performing well around the Indy layout in recent years, the 26-year-old is targeting a strong opening encounter and then building off of that.
Speaking to BTCC Crazy, Goff said: “We could have been higher but I guess everybody will say that considering how the session panned out in the end. I was about four tenths up on one lap and then got stuck behind a slower car that didn’t want to move – that was before Jeff set his pole time.
“We know where we are though and that fills me with confidence because the car feels really good. As a team we have really worked hard during the off-season to improve the car and it is nice to see that all pay off.
“I’m focused on moving forward and banking points, it is important to get a good start because you’ll be playing catch up otherwise.”
