MG Triple Eight Racing’s Jack Goff is targeting a second BTCC victory at Brands Hatch this weekend, a circuit which he feels he has a score to settle at after past performances.
Since making his debut at the Kent venue in 2013, the 24-year-old has shown that he is has been well-suited to tackling both the Indy and Grand Prix configurations. Taking a heroic second place in his maiden season after hounding the back of Gordon Shedden in treacherous conditions, Goff then went on to claim another runners-up spot behind Matt Neal to kick off his MG career in April.
Now looking to bring the curtain down on his first season with the current Manufacturer/Constructor champions, the 5 Star Cases-backed racer has sighted another strong qualifying performance as the key to success.
“There is something about Brands Hatch that seems to bring the best out of me at times and I want another win,” said Goff. “We’ve shown that we have had the pace on several occasions this year but the luck hasn’t always been on our side.
“This weekend will be about stringing qualifying and three races together to take home some more silverware. I’ve been second on both the Indy and the GP circuit so I am desperate to finally take the top step of the podium there and I’m optimistic we can challenge from the outset.
“It’s important to round out the season on a high as well so it will be all guns blazing from both me and Andy. It wouldn’t be the finale without it probably being a wet at some stage as well so we will have to keep our eyes on the skies and the forecast. I think the big question will be how dark it is in the last race if it is to rain.”
