Jack Goff brimming with confidence heading into Brands Hatch triple-header

Jack Goff is feeling confident heading to Brands Hatch this weekend as he bids to kick off his 2017 campaign off on the right foot.

Switching from West Surrey Racing to Eurotech Racing over the off-season, the 26-year-old has enjoyed a busy pre-season behind-the-wheel of the Honda Civic Type R, completing an extensive testing programme.

Having chalked up just one win in his BTCC career to date, Goff has been a regular figure towards the sharp end of the grid in recent years and had it not been for general bad luck last year, he may well have played a bigger role in the championship battle.

Now starting afresh alongside Jeff Smith to spearhead the Independent squads title tilt, Goff is brimming with confidence heading into rounds one, two and three around the Indy circuit this weekend.

“I’ve slotted in straight away with Eurotech Racing,” Goff said to btcc.net. “They’re a great bunch and I’m loving the car so it’s all looking quite positive at the moment.

“If you’re feeling at ease with everyone around you then that makes life a lot easier. We have a bit of banter but we’re very focussed on the job which is to go out there and win races.”

Turning his attentions to this weekend’s season-opener, he added: “We’re feeling quite confident heading to Brands Hatch. We know what we’re doing but we don’t know what everyone else has been doing.

“We have different tyres this year to learn. The car ran last year in RML specification but we were running a slightly narrower tyre in 2016 so we’re learning things over again slightly though the guys are fantastic both in the engineering department and in the garage.

“Together we’ve been getting through different programmes, we’re all working hard and we feel we’ve really been getting somewhere.”
