Jack Goff has set his sights on a return to the podium this weekend as the 2015 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads to Oulton Park for rounds 10, 11 and 12.
The MG Triple Eight Racing driver has enjoyed a strong start to the campaign with the reigning manufacturer/constructors, with the highlight thus far being a podium finish at Brands Hatch.
Now set to join team mate Andrew Jordan in reaching a significant milestone with MG, race one being their 100th since returning in 2012, the 24-year-old is confident that the team can challenge towards the front and ensure they remain firmly within the championship picture.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Goff said:“To be part of the team and celebrate MG’s 100th race this weekend is quite an achievement and hopefully both I and Andrew can achieve some good results for everyone to celebrate. Down the years Triple Eight have been quick around Oulton Park, despite it slightly favouring rear-wheel-drive cars recently.
“We performed well at Thruxton and over the short break we’ve been able to look through the data and unlock some more performance. I’m heading into this weekend confident that we can challenge towards the front and get back on the podium. Everyone has moved forward in terms of performance since we last visited the circuit, but so have we.”
Moving back to the Island configuration after the series reverted to the International layout last year, the 2012 Renault UK Clio Cup champion has revealed the annual trip to the North West is one that he enjoys immensely.
“I won my first every Clio Cup race around Oulton Park so it holds fond memories for me,” he added. “It is a real driver’s circuit and now that we are back on the Island layout, there should be more opportunities to overtaking.
“There is always a big crowd that turns out to watch and we have a lot of sponsors that are from the North of the country, it is always a brilliant event.”
