HMS Racing have unveiled the Alfa Romeo Giulietta that Rob Austin will drive in the 2018 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Taking the covers off the front-wheel-drive machine on the Motorsport News stand at the Autosport Show International, the Giulietta made its first public appearance in the teams familiar colours of green and white.

Putting a deal together with the Alfa Romeo Dealer Council, the Independent squad announced that they would bring back the iconic marque at Rockingham last September.

Bringing the Toyota Avensis era to a close with victory at the 2017 season finale, HMS Racing have since worked hard to build up the car after receiving the shell from Willie Poole.

Commenting on the unveiling, HMS Racing Team Principal Simon Belcher said: “It’s very emotional to see the response to the Alfa Romeo we have designed and built ourselves from the ground up,” said Belcher. “I did a very hard thing in stepping out of the driving seat myself in the BTCC to spend more time overseeing the team’s progress and then developing such a stunning car.

“Our engineer Matt Taylor and the rest of the team have done an incredible job and I am extremely proud of what we have achieved. However, a beautiful car is only part of the journey – now we need to make it win!”
