Sarah Moore Nominated for BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year

Sarah Moore, the 16 year old Yorkshire racing driver, was nominated for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year which is a fantastic achievement.

Moore, who will drive for Team YRC (YourRacingCar) in 2010, made it into the history books earlier this season not only once, but twice.

Young Sarah took her first win at Thruxton back in March 2009 which made her the first ever female driver to make it onto the top step of the podium in a BTCC event. But that wasn't enough as she then took the Ginetta Junior 2009 title at Brands Hatch to make her the first female driver to win a series on the BTCC programme.

Team YourRacingCar are said to be delighted that one of their drivers have been nominated for such a prestigious award. Team Owner, Hannah said, “We’re so excited. Of course, this nomination for Sarah is down to years of hard slog and a heap of talent. We’re just privileged to be taking her on to the next stage in her career”.
