eBay conclude sponsorship with West Surrey Racing

eBay have announced that they will no longer continue as title sponsors for West Surrey Racing, who this year claimed four titles in the 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Sponsorship from eBay to West Surrey Racing has spanned a total of five years, with this past season being their most successful in the series.

Team Principal Dick Bennetts believes that it is that recent success that will allow them to attract new title sponsors to join the Sunbury-based outfit.

He said: “We have just completed our most successful season in the BTCC, winning four out of four categories, so I believe we are in a strong position to offer new partners a unique marketing opportunity.

“We have enjoyed a great partnership with eBay and I am extremely proud of everyone at WSR, by securing both Drivers’ Titles with Colin Turkington and both Teams’ Titles with the help of Rob Collard and Nick Foster this year.”

Steve Heywood, spokesperson for eBay, added: “eBay has enjoyed a very successful partnership with West Surrey Racing and are proud to conclude our sponsorship on a real high with Colin’s fantastic BTCC Championship win.

“We would also like to thank Dick and the whole WSR team for their huge effort this year and wish them more success in the future.”

The announcement means eBay have become the second major brand pull out of the series after Airwaves parted with Motorbase Performance prior to the final round of the 2014 season.
