BMR Racing will have two champions as part of their driver line-up this year after confirming that Jason Plato will remain with them for the 2018 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Set to once again partner current title holder Ashley Sutton, Plato will embark on his fourth year with the squad and his third from behind-the-wheel of the Subaru Levorg.

The 50-year-old endured a torrid 2017 campaign after a crash on the opening weekend left him battling issues with his chassis for a majority of the season thereon after.

Marking what will be his 20th year competing in the series, the double champion is eyeing a milestone season as he bids to not only clinch a third title but also break the 100 race win barrier. Plato will enter the season sitting on 96 victories.

Commenting on staying with the team, Plato said: “I’m really looking forward to 2018, we have some exciting new developments in progress which should see the Adrian Flux BMR Subaru Levorgs fighting at the sharp end of the grid yet again. April can’t come soon enough.”

Warren Scott, BMR Racing Team Principal, added: “I am pleased to retain Jason in the team for another year and am looking forward to supporting him to his 100 wins as well as his fight for the championship throughout what promises to be an unforgettable year.”
