Ashley Sutton “not changing approach too much” as defending champion

Ashley Sutton has vowed to not change his approach too much heading into the 2018 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, donning the mantel of defending champion.

Re-signing with BMR Racing for a second successive season, the 23-year-old is keen make it back-to-back titles behind-the-wheel of the Subaru Levorg.

Highlighting that there are certain areas he will hone in on, the former Clio Cup winner is ready to get his title defence underway.

“Everyone has been asking how I will approach this year now I am going in defending my title,” Sutton explained.

“I won’t be changing my approach too much but just making sure I am honing in on all my defects that stood out this year, to make sure I am in the best possible position come the end of the season. 

“We, as a team, will be taking into account the Teams Championship along with the Manufactures title for Subaru. I can’t wait to get going, the boys are working hard in the workshop in preparation for what lies ahead.”

Sutton is set to be in attendance across all four days of the Autosport Show International, which starts Thursday 11th January.
