ANDREW JORDAN IN BUOYANT MOOD HEADING TO DONINGTON PARK

Andrew Jordan has his sights set on spring-boarding himself up the championship standings as the BTCC heads to Donington Park this weekend.

The BMW Pirtek Racing driver arrives at his home event having endured mixed fortunes at the Brands Hatch curtain-raiser at the start of the month.

Scoring a podium finish in the opening race, the 2013 champion found himself out of luck in races one and two, suffering a pair non-points scoring finishes.

Optimistic that the results at Brands Hatch weren’t a true representation of his and West Surrey Racing’s pace, Jordan is relishing getting back towards the sharp end of the grid at a circuit he has always enjoyed competing around.

“I always look forward to racing at Donington Park,” said Jordan. “It’s the closest circuit to where I live and I can always feel fantastic local support from the fans. I also have some great memories of this place, like my first BTCC pole and my two wins here.

“It was great to start the year with a podium at Brands Hatch, but ultimately the results of the weekend weren’t a reflection of the speed we had.

“On the positive side, I head to Donington without success ballast and aiming to make BMW winners for a third straight season.”

In addition to his BTCC exploits this year, Jordan has also confirmed that he will return to the FIA World Rallycross Championship with MJP Racing. The Red Bull athlete will compete in the events held in the UK, France and Germany – starting at the end of next month.
