Andrew Jordan says he is feeling good as he prepares to embark on his second consecutive season in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship with West Surrey Racing.
Running under the BMW Pirtek Racing, the 2013 champion made the switch to the Sunbury-based squad last year, taking three wins – one of which was at the Brands Hatch season-opener.
Making progress over pre-season with a number of days testing carried out, Jordan heads into this weekend’s opening event aiming to replicate his flying start from last year and cement himself as an early title contender.
“Last year couldn’t really have started any better with victory at Brands Hatch on my first weekend with BMW Pirtek Racing,” he said. “That’s the kind of form I aim to take into the opening round of 2018.
“Last year was a great learning process for me as I acclimatised to racing with a new team and in a contemporary rear-wheel-drive touring car.
“Three wins and the Manufacturers’ Championship for BMW was great, but ultimately my aim was to challenge for the drivers’ title and with a year’s additional experience under my belt, this is again my target.
“We’ve made some strong progress in testing with the latest developments to the BMW and I’m feeling good.”
