Aiden Moffat is keen to expel the memories of a tough opening round of the BTCC season with a trio of points finishes at Donington Park this weekend.
The Laser Tools Racing driver found himself in the thick of the action at Brands Hatch for rounds one, two and three, ultimately failing to score any points.
Now heading into the second event of the 2017 campaign, the Scotsman is optimistic that the pace the Mercedes Benz A-Class showed at last month’s media day will translate over to the race weekend.
“It can’t get any worse than Brands Hatch,” Moffat said to BTCC Crazy following the season-opener. “That was just a horrible weekend stemming from a tough Saturday. We had good pace but found ourselves in the wrong place at the wrong time in all the races, hence the incidents and results.
“Going to Donington Park should be a lot better for us. We have tested quite a bit there during the off-season and we had good pace on the media day.
“The aim for me is to just get three points finishes and begin building on that. The Mercedes is as good as it has ever been.”
