The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship today announced that the points system for the series will change with immediate affect and therefore come into force for the opening round of the 2012 season.

The new points system will see the top 15 cars score points as apposed to the top 10 in a bid to accommodate the larger grids which the series’ has attracted and will continue to bring in with the new Next Generation Touring Car regulations. This was evident at the final round of the season with a record 30 cars registered for the season finale at Silverstone.

TOCA are yet to announce the final details of the new scoring system.
