TandyQ

Nick Tandy managed the two fastest laps during the qualifying session for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB finale at Silverstone to secure another double pole position. The Motorbase driver, who claimed two pole positions last time out at Brands Hatch, lapped the circuit in best times of 55.939 seconds and 56.107 seconds to head the grid for the final two races of the season.

Directly behind Tandy were two of the three championship contenders as the SAS/Redline drivers Michael Meadows and James Sutton secured a second and a third place start each. While the two team mates were satisfied with their solid showing the third title protagonist, Stephen Jelley suffered a shocking session, only managing seventh and ninth fastest which puts him on the back foot in terms of the championship.

Youngsters Ben Hetherington and Sam Tordoff enjoyed positive showings as they claimed a fourth position apiece ahead of Pro-Am1 champion Jonas Gelzinis who will start fifth overall and on category pole position for both races.

Rory Butcher claimed second in Pro-Am1 for both races ahead of George Richardson and Ahmad Al Harthy who both took a third and a fourth .

In Pro-Am2 championship contenders George Brewster and Keith Webster shared a pole position each to leave their championship battle as it
was at the start of the day, with Brewster leading by five points.

Both races are live on ITV4 tomorrow and begin at 12:25 and 15:45.
