Ollie Jackson Faces Tough Brands Debut
One of two drivers making their British Touring Car debut was Ollie Jackson and it was one that he described as a “real challenge”.
Jackson, who joined the Triple Eight Racing team to drive the second of the turbo-powered Vauxhall Vectra’s alongside James Nash, finished all three of the races on the Brands Hatch circuit and was unlucky to not score points as he came home with two 18th and an 11th place finish.
“We had good pace in practice so I know that the potential is there to be higher up the grid,” said Ollie reflecting on his race weekend. “Unfortunately, the opening laps hurt me and each race was a fight-back but we brought the car home each time in one piece, which is good.
Ollie Jackson, who took the Pro-Am1 class title in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB last season secured a deal with the Triple Eight Racing team prior to round nine at Brands Hatch which sees him complete the season which includes the final race of the campaign at Silverstone in less than two weeks time.
“The whole weekend has been a great experience. Racing in the British Touring Car Championship is everything I thought it was going to be. It’s a real challenge and I’m already really looking forward to the next race at Silverstone.”
