Morris Crowned Ginetta Junior Champion 2011
With still two rounds to go in the Ginetta Junior Championship, thanks to Seb Morris’ storming season, he has already been crowned Champion for 2011.
15 year old Seb from Marford in Wales has been on top form all year. With a fantastic 11 victories and 14 podiums in total, these statistics just go to show the sheer dominance of what the Hillspeed driver has managed so far this season in the Ginetta Junior Championship.
Seb already holds the title for the 2010 Winter Series Championship, and now holds the 2011 Ginetta Junior Championship title, and he couldn’t be more ecstatic:
Seb said: “It’s been a great season, we’ve worked really hard for this. I can’t thank the team enough, they do everything so precisely and have done a fantastic job this year. My driver coach, Matt Shawyer, is the reason I’ve been as fast as I have and my manager, Andy Meyrick, has looked after everything off-track for me. It’s a proper team effort, I’m really happy we’ve done it.”
Now Seb has the championship well and truly wrapped up, he can go to Silverstone in two weeks time without the added pressure, and can instead look forward to the racing. But, he still aims to challenge for more podium finishes.
Seb’s triumph means that Hillspeed have now had back-to-back championship wins in the Ginetta Juniors, as Tom Ingram, who drove for Hillspeed last year, won the championship title in 2010.
Hillspeed’s team Principal Richard Ollerenshaw, said: “We’re highly delighted to wrap up the championship at such a fabulous circuit. Seb having taken 11 wins, 14 podiums in total, really does speak for itself – it’s been a fantastic season. To have won the championship in our first season in Ginetta Junior last year was incredible, to have now added a second back-to-back title is outstanding.”
