Foster Endures Difficult Final Race From Pole

Nick Foster Race 3

Nick Foster started the final race of the day at Brands Hatch in round nine of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship from pole position following the reverse grid format but failed to capitalise on it in what was to be a difficult race.

After making a great start in the rear-wheel drive West Surrey Racing BMW, Nick started to drop back and came into the clutches of the chasing drivers.

“The car seemed to be understeering all race,” said Foster after race three. “I just couldn’t seem to get the temperature into the tyres at all during the race and the car just didn’t want to turn in at the front.”

Throughout the race Foster succumbed to the chasing pack and finished the race in tenth place, just inside the points.

“I was just getting hung out to dry and add that to a bit of pushing and shoving I just fell down the order.” Nick Foster went on to say, “I was really struggling for the first couple of laps to try and get any sort of balance in the car which I had in race two. We were a second a lap slower than race two without changing anything on the car so I don’t know what happened there.”

Speaking ahead of the season finalĂ© at Silverstone, Foster commented, “Lets just hope for rain.”
