DCE_3225

Tom Boardman will start the first race of the day from 23rd on the grid after being handed a 6-grid place penalty following the incident with Jason Plato last time out at Knockhill.

The incident occurred at the SEAT Curves where Boardman’s SEAT Leon collided with Jason Plato’s Chevrolet Cruze whilst challenging for the lead which caused Plato to crash out.

After reviewing the incident earlier today the stewards adjudged the Preston-based racer to be at fault and therefore penalised him. In addition to the grid penalty they have also fined him £1000 and applied three penalty points to his competition licence.

Incidentally, Tom Boardman will keep his race win which was in fact his first win in the British Touring Car Championship.
