Onslow-Cole Leaves Lots To Do After Qualifying
Onslow-Cole will start tomorrows first race of the day from 13th on the grid in a qualifying session which saw the top 16 drivers separated by just one second.
The 24-year-old split both of his team-mates, Andy Neate and Tom Chilton, who start from 12th and 14th respectively, with a lap which could have been a lot better than it was.
“I didn’t put my sectors together,” said Onslow-Cole speaking to BTCC Crazy. “I probably left about half a second out there today which would have put me in about 6th.”
Onslow-Cole momentarily held provisional pole half way through the session but as the track started to dry Tom found it difficult to set a good time as well as being thwarted by the red flag.
“We might have got it on the last run but Griffin crashed and brought out the red flag when we were on a flyer. We had a good ‘damp’ run at it and that put us on pole but as the track tried out we just weren’t able to put it all together when it mattered. We’ve got lots to do tomorrow which is going to make for an exciting race.
