Special Tuning Racing Confirm 2012 Entry
Special Tuning Racing have confirmed that they will compete in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship in 2012.
The team is currently in its second season in the championship and runs two Seat Leons for Tom Boardman and Dave Newsham.
However, earlier this week reports suggested that the team was set to quit the series at the end of this season but the team have rubbished these rumours and publicly stated their commitment to the championship.
Team Principal John Boardman said: “The BTCC remains our priority. Over the course of this season we’ve proved that we’ve got two fast and reliable cars. We are achieving consistent results and are moving higher up in the championship standings and we look forward to improving on this again next year.”
Special Tuning plan to run two Seats again next year but also have a third Leon built to World Touring Car specification that they are looking into the possibility of running as well.
More announcements on the team’s 2012 plans are expected to be made closer to the start of the season.
