The Title Race Still Very Much Alive For Ginetta Junior Championship
As we are now well into the second half of the 2011 season, championship hopes are more apparent than ever before.
Currently Hillspeed driver Seb Morris is topping the table with 437 points and boasts a staggering 99 point lead over his closest rival George Gamble on 338. But … all is still to play for.
With three circuits still to visit: Rockingham, Brands Hatch GP and the finale at Silverstone, there are six races remaining in the Ginetta Junior Championship season. So, there is a possible total of 222 points up for grabs for any one driver to challenge for, so the title race is still very much alive.
However, with Morris having such an advantage over his rivals thanks to a fantastic 10 race wins, it will be a very tall order for anyone to step up to the mark and steal his reign… although it can be done!
Speaking with the current championship leader Morris, he said: “Me and the team have worked really hard to get where we are now, and it is only going to get harder, so we have to give it our all and focus on every finite detail to get one step ahead of everyone else.
“I am now focusing on qualifying as well as I can and staying at the front and out of the battlefield!
“I am also now focusing on points and podiums but not race wins if I have to take a gamble to win, only if it is safe and risk free!”
The next rounds of the Ginetta Junior Championship will be held at Rockingham in Northamptonshire over the weekend of the 17th/18th September, where the battle to come out on top will continue.
