Wrathall: “Speechless”
Frank Wrathall took the Independent win and the first points for an Next Generation Touring Car during the first race at Snetterton in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.
After scoring the best ever qualifying position in his Dynojet prepared Toyota Avensis yesterday he went one better and scored his and NGTC’s first points with his fourth place finish after making up three places in the process.
“I can’t believe it. It’s incredible,” said Wrathall. “It’s been an absolute epic journey since the first time at Brands and I didn’t think we’d be on the podium so soon. I’m absolutely speechless.”
After making his debut at Brands Hatch at the start of the season, Frank and the Dynojet have come forward leaps and bounds and are starting to reap the rewards for the work the team have put into the car. Wrathall went on to say, “The aim for the year was to finish in the points to finish as the top independent and fourth overall is just way beyond all of our expectations.”
“The car has so much potential and to put it all together and get this results is a testament to all the hard work.”
Frank Wrathall will start the second race of the day from the second row of the grid following his fourth place finish in race one.
