Foster: “Dream Result”

BTCC Croft -3413

Nick Foster took his first podium finish of his Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship career last time out at Croft in a race which he called a “dream result”.

Foster, who made his debut at the start of the 2011 season with the West Surrey Racing team started the final race of the day from pole position following the reverse grid draw and made a good start holding off the charge from title-hopeful Mat Jackson but later succumbed to the pace of the turbo Ford Focus and settled for the second step on the podium.

“Brilliant result. I’m really pleased,” said Foster speaking to BTCC Crazy following the final race of the day. “The car felt strong and I just wanted to keep it neat and tidy.”

Foster and Collard showed a great sense of team-work when they used each other’s strengths to get at Mat Jackson with Collard giving the place back to Foster on the last lap. “I let Rob [Collard] through to see if he could attack Mat better than I could but he then gave the position back to me which was good.”

Nick followed up by saying, “It was a dream race and I couldn’t ask for anything more.”

The podium finish along with his 7th place finish in race two gave puts Nick in eighth place in the Independents drivers championship just four points adrift of Tom Boardman in 7th.
