Neal Delighted With Double Win At Croft

The Croft circuit threw up some challenging weather conditions and the second wet weekend of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season and it was Matt Neal who came out on top.

Neal gave the Honda Racing team a lot of praise following his two race victories behind the wheel of the turbo-powered Honda Civic in which the team have worked on to improve handling, especially in the wet weather, to increase his lead at the top of the championship to nine points ahead of nearest challenger and the driver that crossed the line just 0.055s behind Neal, Mat Jackson.

“If you had have offered me two podium finishes coming in to this weekend, I would have taken them,” said Neal. “To get two wins and then more points in race three was better than we could have imagined. The Honda Racing Team car has been fantastic this weekend. We have worked hard on getting the most out of the handling of the Civic chassis which really is a benefit in the wet weather – the entire Honda Racing Team crew has been at the top of its game this weekend and that is what has helped us to get the results.”

After the problems that Neal encountered at Oulton Park it was a good sense of character for the 45-year old to bounce back and extend his lead at the top of the championship and move ever closer to that third BTCC title of his career.
