It was Mat Jackson that took the his third win of the his season in his Airwaves Racing Ford Focus in the final race of the day at Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

After making a brilliant start off the line it took just a few corners for Mat to take the lead off pole sitter Nick Foster and from there he never looked back and cemented his charge on the title and clawed back the points to championship leader Matt Neal and in turn took his third win of the season.

“It’s great to be heading home from Croft 2nd in the championship and get some more wins on the board,” said Jackson. “The BMW’s are looking strong but we did enough to take the win.”

The top three, which consisted of the two West Surrey Racing BMW’s of Nick Foster and Rob Collard as well as race winner, Mat Jackson, took the initiative from the start and pulled a substantial lead ahead of the rest of the pack. Collard eventually got past Foster but it was too little too late for Collard who just ran out of laps to overtake the turbo-powered Ford Focus.

Collard then slowed to allow Foster to take the second step on the podium which looked like a kind gesture from the 42-year old. That meant that Collard would take third and with it his third podium postion of the day and capped a brilliant weekend for the West Surrey Racing team.

Elsewhere it was Jordan that took 4th ahead of James Nash, and the two Hondas of Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal. MacDowall, Chilton and the SEAT of Newsham rounded out the top 10 meanwhile 2010 BTCC Champion, Jason Plato, just missed out on a point coming over the line in 11th position.
