Points More Important Than Wins For Jordan

Andrew Jordan will line up on the front row of the grid for tomorrow’s first race of the day at Thrxuton as he put his Pirtek Racing Vauxhall Vectra in 2nd with a time which was just 0.062s shy of the pole time of Gordon Shedden.

Despite sitting in a brilliant position for race one, the 21-year old isn’t going to get complacent. “If we come away from tomorrow being the top 3 or 4 points scorers from the weekend then I’ll be happy,” said Jordan to BTCC Crazy. “This is a critical point of the season. It’s so easy to get punctures around here so I just need to make sure that I’m in the points for each of the three races.”

When asked if he would be pushing for the win Andrew replied by saying, “I know I need to get finishes but we’ll have to see how I get off the line.”

Jordan currently lies 4th in the championship after his 40 points haul last time out at Donington Park including his first race win of the season. Heading into tomorrow’s race Jordan knows that tyre management will be key to success around the Thruxton circuit.

We’ve done a lot of race setup work so hopefully that will stand us in good stead come tomorrow’s race but I’m really pleased. It’s good to go into tomorrow’s race as the top Vauxhall and more importantly 1.3 seconds ahead of James Nash.
