Jordan: “Keep Doing What We’re Doing”
Andy Jordan sits fourth in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship standings after the first two rounds and will be looking to emulate his performances of Donington Park as the teams head to Hampshire for the third round of the season.
Thruxton, the fastest circuit on the calendar, is also the harshest on tyres and next weekend will be all about tyre management for the drivers but Andrew is confident about the challenge.
“Thruxton has got to be our strongest circuit,” he says. “But we need to go there and be conservative on set-up and make sure we get finishes and not any punctures.”
Jordan went into Donington Park following a weekend to forget at Brands Hatch with two punctures but his points haul has put him in a good position in the championship just 14 points off the lead currently held by James Nash in the identical Vauxhall Vectra.
“After a bad weekend at Brands, we’re now in the championship hunt and we’ve just got to keep doing what we’re doing.”
Vauxhall have enjoyed Thruxton over recent years with seven wins in the past four seasons with the Vauxhall Vectra. Most notably the double wins taken by Fabrizion Giovanardi in the opening round of the season in 2010.
