Nash, Our New Championship Leader

James Nash, Donington Park

The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship has a new leader this evening as James Nash dispossessed Jason Plato at the top of the table after the three races today at Donington Park.

Nash took three podiums throughout the day in the process of taking 33 points from the weekend. Nash started the weekend well by taking a third place finish in race one and gaining a bonus point for leading the race. He went one better in race two by taking 2nd before once again ending up on the podium for the third and final race of the day.

Speaking about his weekend, Nash said, “It’s great. I didn’t come into this round thinking that we could do that. I was just aiming for some points and to take that first win but we came away with three podiums and the championship lead which is good.”

He went on to say, “Points haul’s like that can win championships, I’m just looking forward to the next one [Thruxton]“.

Championship Standings – after Round Two
