Swiss racer Daniele Perfetti will race for Motorbase in this year’s Porsche Carrera Cup GB. He will compete in the pro-am 2 category of the championship.

Perfetti has raced in the Renault Clio championship and the Porsche Carrera Cup in Italy but this will be his first season of racing in the UK and he will be new to most of the tracks on the calendar.

Perfetti started his pre-season testing at Donington Park yesterday and says that he is already fitting in well with the Motorbase team, where he will be able to learn from experienced team mates Tim Harvey and Michael Caine.

Perfetti said: “I feel at home with the team from the start. I moved to London recently so it’s nice to race here. Motorbase is a local team and it has many good customers, so it must do a good job. Today was my first day at Donington Park.”

Team boss David Bartrum is delighted to have confirmed the fifth driver for his team, but still has capacity to run one further car this season.

The Motorbase team will be at Snetterton on Tuesday for the championship’s pre-season test and media day.
