YRC Attracts Young Members To BTCC

YourRacingCar are a fan-funded initiative that have teamed up with AmD Milltek for the 2011 season and want young members to get involved and have lots of ways of doing so.

Each Junior YRC Member not only chooses a picture to go on the race car but also gets a handy YRC branded sports bottle that they can fill up with juice at the YRC Dome throughout the BTCC race day – a god send for any parent on a budget.

Not only that but the Junior YRC Members can also come away from the YRC dome with their very own AmD Milltek inspired t-shirt from Luke Pollard and Unlap, just one of the exciting partners of YourRacingCar. Artist Luke Pollard will be on hand to help the youngsters decide on their choice of livery for the race car! The activity is open to all trackside visitors for just £10 and is another way that people can contribute to the team’s racing budget.

Luke Pollard said, “We started picking the kids range ourselves and quickly discovered that the junior members didn’t hold back with their opinion of our choices. We leave the whole process to them now – it’s a bit like the 80’s film ‘Big’ in our meetings!”

Talking about the team’s junior members, YRC founder Hannah James said “In my experience, the kids that come to the BTCC know a lot more about the race cars than their chaperones! We all get a bit nervous when a junior member comes along with a technical question – there’s no pulling the wool over their eyes, that’s for sure”.

“They constantly remind me why I love the BTCC as a fan because they wear their emotions on their sleeves. They love the noise, the speed and the entertainment of it all. Their excitement is infectious”
