Triple Eight Racing close in on GT Supercup

Triple Eight Race Engineering have announced they are closing in on a deal to run a pair of brand new Ginetta G55′s in the first year of the Ginetta GT Supercup, formerly known as the Ginetta G50 cup.

“I’m sure the new Ginetta G55 Supercup will deliver for the fans so I’m pleased that we’re going to be part of it in 2011. The new G55 is well engineered and the drivers will enjoy the driving experience. We’re nearly there with one car though still have another up for grabs. Given the prize on offer for the Championship winner, if there are any drivers out there with serious ambitions to one day graduate to the BTCC I’d be very happy to hear from them.” said Ian Harrison, Chairman of Triple Eight

Triple Eight racing already run a campaign in the BTCC and as are planning to run in the Porsche Carrera Cup which also supports the British Touring Car Championship.

The GT Supercup is set to support all 10 rounds of the BTCC with Ginetta offering a full season in a NGTC spec BTCC for the winner of the G55 class, the opening round of which is the 2nd and 3rd of April at Brands Hatch.
