All 32 of the 911 GT3 cup cars to be raced in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB in 2011 have been sold. There are still five months to go until the championship opener at Brands Hatch, making this a record for the earliest that every car has been bought .

It has been confirmed that four new squads will join the Porsche paddock, with two of them, Triple Eight and Team Dynamics already household names in BTCC circles. The other new additions are 2XP Racing and Trackspeed.

The 32 car entry list marks an increase from last year’s 28 and means that the championship will be at maximum capacity.

Marion Barnaby, championship manager, said “We knew that interest in the Carrera Cup was running very high for 2011. But this response has broken records and exceeded even our most ambitious targets for the new season. The response to the new model 911 GT3 Cup car has been overwhelming. The 2011 season is going to be an incredible one for the Carrera Cup GB.”
