Hollamby Looking To Improve On First Full Season

Shaun Hollamby and his AmD Milltek Racing team will go into the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch on the brink of completing his first full season in motorsport in his 30 years of racing experience.

“We’ve always run out of money and had to miss some races, even when I won the Multisports championship,” said the 44-year-old Orpington racer. “At times this year the pressures on the team’s budget have meant that we weren’t always sure if we would finish the season, but I am pleased to say we have got there!”

Hollamby will also be looking to end the season on a high at his local circuit after such a strong outing at Donington Park in which he managed to avoid carnage in race one to finish in a respectable 15th. Despite being unable to better his season best finish of 13th Shaun was more than happy that the VW Golf could compete against some of the wealthier teams in the paddock for much of the weekend.

“I know it sounds a bit mad, but I’m as proud to have held that position over those last couple of laps as any result we have had this year. A proper battle and I held my own – we couldn’t have hoped to do that earlier in the season!”
