Tordoff To Make BTCC Debut At Brands

Sam Tordoff, the 21 year-old Elf Clio Cup racer who currently lies third in the championship, will make his debut in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship as the teams make their way to Brands Hatch in little over two weeks time with Triple Eight driving their second Vauxhall Vectra.

Speaking to Motorsport News, Tordoff said, “The Clio Cup has been settled so this is now my big shot at showing what I can do. Of course it’s going to be a huge step up for me and I know I am going to have to drive hard to do well, but there is now reason I can’t finish in the top ten.”

Sam will be driving for the team at Brands Hatch in the season finale. Sam will be the sixth driver to drive for the team this season, a team which used to run the works Vauxhall team up until 2009 after a 13 year partnership, after Nash, Giovanardi (Thruxton), Glew (Thruxton), Lloyd (Croft) and Smith (Knockhill).

Sam, who’s sponsored heavily by JCT600 founded by his grandfather Jack Tordoff, will go into Brands Hatch off the back of a strong finish in his last outing after taking a win and a podium finish in the two races during the World Series by Renualt event.
